Vivienne Eleanor

Dave and I are excited to announce our baby's name: Vivienne Eleanor. Vivienne has been a favorite name of mine for awhile now. In researching the name, I found that it means "alive" and "lively,"so it's very fitting due to her situation. Choosing Eleanor for the middle name was a no-brainer. My grandmother's name was Eleanor. She passed away last year, and I miss her terribly. She was also one of the strongest women I have ever known, and our baby girl is going to need a lot of strength. I know she will be watching over our daughter.

Eleanor's #1 fan then….
….and twenty-some odd years later. (Still am to this day!)

Many people choose not to reveal their baby's name until s/he is born. Normally, I would be one of them; however, little Viv's situation is so unique that I find myself deviating from the script. Dave and I feel it is important for our baby to have an identity. Somehow it makes her feel more real - like her time with us has already begun. Of course we know she's real, but we want to be sure to carve out a place for her in our lives and in this world in case her time here is short.

We are so excited to meet our Vivienne and hope you are too!
